The Power of One Yes

Throughout my journey as an entrepreneur, I often find myself questioning the goal behind my everyday tasks. Some mornings I wake up and have to create my own direction, coming up with things to do that I hope will get me closer to where I want to go. But in the back of my mind, there’s always that lingering question: Is any of this actually working?

The Power of one "Yes"

Yesterday, I was listening to a podcast about becoming the version of yourself you've always dreamed about(How to Become the Person You've Always Wanted to Be - The Mel Robbins Podcast). The guest was a comedian sharing her story of how she got to where she is today. She talked about the embarrassing moments, the self-doubt, and the fear that came with chasing something that felt so out of reach. But then she said something that hit me: she remembered getting her first gig in Montreal, just one opportunity that gave her the confidence, the validation, and a whole new vision of what was possible.

All it took was one yes.

That line stuck with me. As an entrepreneur, it's freeing to think that all the hard work you put in, all the late nights, rejections, and quiet efforts, might one day be validated by a single “yes.” I only need one yes to see my hustle. One yes to like my post. One yes to hire me. One yes to say, “I believe in what you're building.”

And that’s what keeps me going.

Not every day feels productive. Sometimes I post something and barely anyone sees it. Sometimes I reach out and get no response. Sometimes I wonder if I’m building something real or just pretending I am. But then I remember: every “no” is just one step closer to the “yes” that changes everything.

The yes that leads to a client. The yes that gets me in the room. The yes that opens a door I didn’t even know existed.

And the best part? You never know when it’ll come. You could be sitting in your car after a long, exhausting day, feeling like you're getting nowhere, and then boom. A message, a DM, a referral, an opportunity. And suddenly, everything shifts. Suddenly, the grind makes sense.

Because that yes doesn’t just validate your work, it reshapes how you see yourself. It’s the moment you realize you were never crazy. You were just early.

So if you’re out here building something no one sees yet, doing work that doesn’t always feel shiny, remember this:

You only need one yes.

Not a thousand likes. Not a standing ovation. Just one person to believe, to support, to say, “Let’s do this.”

That one yes might come tomorrow. Or a year from now. But it will come, if you keep your head down.

I plan to keep showing up, until it does.
